Speed Up Windows 7 in Just a Few Minutes

Windows 7 is the latest and greatest from the giant software company known as Microsoft. It succeeds Windows Vista which succeeded Windows XP. The lineup from Windows has been pretty impressive down the years. Windows XP is far and wide considered one of the best, fastest and most stable operating systems on the market. However, Microsoft dropped the ball when they made Vista and 7. Both of these operating systems are extremely slow when compared to similar operating systems.
Speeding up your system can be pretty easy as long as you know what you're doing. You don't have to know how to code in C++ or some other coding language but you should have a basic knowledge of what a computer is. Once you know the basics you'll be able to speed up your computer without having to worry too much.
A computer is a conglomeration of parts that all do different things in order to give you a functioning computer. There is a processor, RAM, and a hard drive. These are the three main components that you'll hear about. The processor processes the information onto either the RAM or the hard disk. RAM stands for random access memory. Ram is basically an ultra fast version of a hard disk that a processor can use to make temporary storage caches. When the processor needs more permanent storage it uses the C drive. With this basic understanding of a computer we can move onto the most important part of keeping your computer running fast: keeping Windows 7 clear of clutter.
The more stuff you have on a C drive the more the computer has to search through before it can find what you're requesting. When a hard disk spins up a magnetic spindle reads information on the hardware when the platter spins beneath it. The more information you have the more it has to read through and the farther back on the C drive it has to go. Delete stuff that you don't need. Having too much stuff on their computer is one of the biggest problems that computer novices run into.
Go through your computer and delete every single thing you do not need. Then go to the system tools found in the start menu and defrag your hard drive. When you defrag a hard drive all of the information gets moved closer to the center of the hard drive and you get faster access times.
