Procrastination and Your Music Career

Procrastination is your worst enemy
The best way to end your rapping career before it begins is procrastination. I've seen too many talented recording artists fall into the category of a habitual procrastinator. You must first understand how dangerous this category is because before you know it you'll be twenty seven years old pushing thirty and all you'll have is a whole bunch of half butt mix-tapes.
Act As Soon As Possible
The complete opposite of procrastination is acting with a sense of urgency. As soon as you get an idea of a good song or a good punch-line etc, write it down and practice it. When you're browsing the web for rap beats and you hear an instrumental you like, contact the producer as soon as possible. In other words, if you tell yourself you're going to do something tomorrow or next week, more than likely you're never going to do it. Becoming the rap artist you always wanted to be will require you to believe there is no such thing as later, there is only a now.
The time is now
The way life is setup today, it has never been easier to act with a sense of urgency. We have internet accessible cell phones and everybody knows the web is your most powerful tool. Stay logged into those forums and whenever you get some free time post of threads and send messages. When you come up with some new rhymes in your head, start a thread and let people give you feed back on it. I love reading random free-styles on forums and people will always give feed-back. You just got to take the initiative to act as soon as possible and grind for it like you're homeless.
